According to Waddell, 39, who shared in an Instagram video on Friday, October 3, changing your hair color in the fall isn’t necessarily a sign of a breakup. She calls it simply “fall hair.”
Waddell, having recently dyed her typically blonde hair a darker shade, continued to justify the expense of her hair transformation in the accompanying caption to her post. She explained her reasoning further.
“Girl math,” she said with a laugh, explaining the popular online idea about how women think about money. “If you splurge on a hair appointment, it’s perfectly acceptable to balance it out by shopping at Goodwill.”
Waddell asked Gina Micheletti, a stylist from the Slay Bae salon in Nashville, to give her hair a makeover.

In her selfie, Waddell showed off her new hairstyle – soft, loose waves – and paired it with pink eyeshadow and lipstick. The former Bachelor in Paradise star was also wearing a stylish, casual knit crop top with khaki pants.
No matter what name Waddell gives her new style, she has recently broken off her engagement with Tressler.
I’m always honest with you all, so I want to be upfront now. I’m not wearing an engagement ring,” she shared in a social media video on Wednesday, October 1. “I ended my engagement about a month ago. We’ve moved to a new city. This wasn’t a quick decision; it took time to come to. The timing was difficult because the kids had just begun school and their activities. But, you know, that’s just how things are.”
Waddell has two children: a 7-year-old daughter, Bella, and a 5-year-old son, Charlie. She shares them with her former husband, Evan Bass, whom she married in 2017 and divorced in 2020. In 2023, Waddell began a relationship with Tressler, and they became engaged later that year.
“I’m really comfortable with this choice,” Waddell said on Wednesday. “My children are thriving in our new home. To be honest, getting back into dating after a divorce, especially when you have kids, is incredibly challenging. You need to make difficult choices both for yourself and your family. That’s just where I am right now.”
Waddell had previously shared with Us Weekly his thoughts on dating while being a single parent – this was just a few months before he contacted Tressler through direct messages.
I often daydream about meeting someone amazing while I’m out and about – a man who really sweeps me off my feet,” Waddell shared exclusively with Us in May 2023. “I’m actively hoping that will happen. … I’m perfectly happy on my own, actually I’m doing really well. We’ve built such a great life together now that the thought of someone coming in and, like, disrupting that makes me a little nervous.”

She announced her engagement on Instagram last year, writing, “Here’s to a new chapter with my dream man, and the dream ring he gave me!” The ring, a two-stone diamond from James Allen, was placed on her left hand.
