The characters were a major strength. The first season of Skeleton Crew concluded with the planet At-Attin being revealed to the wider galaxy. This means the planet is no longer hidden, and while it will likely attract new dangers, it will also connect the people of At-Attin with the rest of the galactic community, ending their isolation. The season finale intentionally sets up plenty of possibilities for future storylines.
Jude Law’s character, Jod Na Nawood, could play a significant role if there’s a second season. He initially pretends to be a Jedi, leading the children to believe he’s a hero, but it’s later revealed he has a complex past. He betrays them in an attempt to steal the planet’s treasure, though he doesn’t succeed. While he fails, Jod does show some redemption, leaving the possibility for his story to continue.
Despite betraying them, Jod isn’t entirely a villain, leaving room for more story in Skeleton Crew, both for the children and for his character. With Jude Law as a major draw, the show could attract a consistent audience on Disney+, potentially encouraging Lucasfilm to continue the series.

The second season of Skeleton Crew could follow a similar path as The Mandalorian.
