Speaking in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on April 10, Sklenar expressed his excitement about taking on the role in the upcoming film, saying that after finishing “It Ends with Us” and the second season of “1923,” he was eager for more work. When the opportunity to star in “Drop” presented itself, it seemed like a perfect fit and a valuable acting challenge. Additionally, Sklenar mentioned his admiration for director Chris’ films such as “Freaky,” “Happy Death Day,” and “We Have a Ghost,” which he described as a fun horror-thriller. As a fan of the genre, he was looking forward to this project.
In the movie adaptation titled “The Housemaid,” which shares its name with a book by Freida McFadden, Sklenar is among the cast members. Besides Sklenar, Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried are also part of the ensemble in this suspenseful film production.
Over the past year, all three films that Sklenar has been involved with have centered around the topic of domestic violence, making these movies resonate deeply with him on a personal level.
Sklenar shared with THR that this topic has been significant in his personal experiences for quite some time. A person very dear to him has been grappling with it for years, and he’s tried to provide support as much as possible. It seems that this subject keeps resurfacing in his life because it’s a part of his own journey too.
