During a 2018 appearance on The Graham Norton Show, Margot Robbie revealed she’ll always be grateful to her mother because of her difficult behavior when she was younger.
‘I was such a brat and I feel really bad about it,’ she recalled to Graham.
‘So, I was on MSN, obviously the most important thing at the time.
We lived in a rural area, and snakes would frequently find their way inside our home. It wasn’t something we worried much about, though. You simply had to chase them and guide them back outside.
So, my mum shouted and asked, “Could you please come and help me? This snake is really large. I’m unable to deal with it myself. Can you come help me?” she went on to say.
And I was like, “Ugh, I’m so busy Mum. No, I can’t.”
After a while, when Margot noticed it had been 10 minutes since she last heard from her mother, she went downstairs to check if everything was okay.
I saw Mum on the stairs, and the snake… She attempted to lift this large python using a broom and a stick, but it had coiled itself around her arm and was wrapping around her neck, attempting to strangle her,” she explained.
The actress managed to hold the snake by its jaw and successfully helped her mother get free from the harmless reptile.
‘I felt so bad,’ she said.
Margot certainly made it up to her mother by generously purchasing a home for her in 2019.
The Daily Mail exclusively reported that Margot Robbie purchased two modern homes next to each other on the Gold Coast in Queensland for $2.5 million – one for her mother and one for her older sister.
Margot’s mom, a physical therapist, and her sister Anya, an accountant, were both spotted leaving the impressive homes shortly after Margot traveled to Australia for a close friend’s bachelorette party.
What’s more, in 2014, she paid off her mother’s mortgage on her previous home for her birthday.
Sarie apparently described her birthday as the best she’d ever had, and said it was an amazing gesture from her daughter.
In 2007, Margot’s mother purchased the red brick house for $488,000. Margot lived there during her late teenage years. This is where Margot spent a significant portion of her formative years. The house became a central part of Margot’s life, providing a stable home during an important period of growth.
It was sold for $630,000 in October 2018 after just 22 days on the market.
